The Clifton Players and Clifton Performance Theatre 9 year program has proven very successful with helping young people grow in their social skills and theatrical talent.
Advanced Dramatic Workshop: “Almost, Maine” – Ages 12 – 17
Audition: By Appointment
5 Weeks January – February
Geared towards students looking to learn more advanced themes, for 5 weeks, students will produce a production of the acclaimed “Almost, Maine.” From audition to handling challenging themes and developing complicated characters, from set design and stage management to performance, 20 roles are available and will be cast from a city-wide audition, held in October, for the production in January – February.
Advanced Professional Development Workshop for TV, Film, & Stage – Ages 9 – 15
2 Days January 21 & 22, 2 – 6pm
Ready to take the leap into the profession? This two-part workshop, students will learn about working in a professional environment.
First day, Saturday November 5, we will cover acting on in a professional theatre.
• Resumes & headshots for theatre
• Unions: Working as an AEA actor
• Acting techniques
• Text analysis
• Speech & articulation
• Meisner technique
• Voice & movement
• Body control
Second day, Sunday November 6, we will cover TV & Film.
From technical to aesthetics, topics covered include:
• Marketing yourself as an actor: resumes, headshots, & online presence
• Self-taping vs. onsite auditioning
• How’s and why’s of getting and work with an agent
• Conduct, tips, tricks, & what not to do
• Differences between acting for stage and on-camera
• Unions: SAG-AFTRA or not to SAG-AFTRA
This workshop comes with a workbook for reference. Students are encouraged to bring a parent, as there will be a lot of technical information in these sessions.
Some of Cincinnati’s most skilled industry professionals with an innovative approach to teaching youth, this workshop focuses on the business of show business. Special guests who have worked on most recent film productions, shot recently in the Cincinnati region.
